X-mas Eve i went to Gabe's mommies and had dinner.

there were a lot of crazy little people there.

but that's ok...

because i am a crazy big person.

Jenny and her boyfriend Kasey made me feel right at home. thank you for that.

X-mas day Gabe and i went to help out my friend Reg, who organized a dinner for a homeless shelter for parents and their children.

it was an amazing day.

sometimes i think i'm the luckiest guy in the whle world, and other times...

i just know it.

been singing in my sleep...

no internet, no heat, and up til yesterday barely any furniture.. other than my guitars, a bed, and a few books. now that the furniture is here I'm lamenting the loss of a monk-like existence. possesions are over-rated. Robert Anton Wilson rules.

so few words...

it's only Rock and Roll...

today we flew home from our last show of 2008.

i was awakened by my phone ringing in my hotel room at 9 AM.

it was Wes..

he told me that we won some Billboard award for top rock song of 2008.

it didn't really register and i went back to sleep.

when i woke up a few hours later i realized what he said.

and i thought that was pretty fuckin cool.

say yes...

our gear did not arrive for the Edmonton show.

we played on all rental-equipment.

it was interesting.

i wanted to keep the Les Paul they rented me, but they were like...  no.

i miss you more than i knew.

if you've ever seen Spinal Tap you will know why no musician ever likes to hear they are playing an amusement park.

but, seeing that it was a Toys For Tots Foundation fundraiser, i don't see how we could say no.

plus, i got to spend a few hours with Gabe riding rides without having to wait in line.

i could see the wheels turning in his head....

if you play in a band, you don't have to wait in line for roller coasters? hmmmm..

next morning, off to Canada where they held me at immigration for a few hours and almost did not let me in.

apparently they don't like ex-drug addicts with a rap sheet milling about in the great white North.

i promised them i would behave myself and paid the two hundred loons for a Queen's "temporary" pardon.

and it was worth every penny.

just gimmee some truth...

city living has it's trappings.

i'll bet you a million dollars no forest creature ever over-analyzed their circumstances.

the trick to city living is to keep it simple.

get outta dodge.

get back to what's real.

love, an open heart, an open mind.

these things are hard to find in the city.

the buildings block out the sun and build walls in your heart.

there's nothing pure in smog and air conditioning.

there's nothing pure in the city but Love... and even that can get a little spoiled.
