
my current road reading material is Dylan's book: Chronicles. i've always been a huge fan of his but the book has thrown a whole new light on how weird and bad-ass he really is. at the height of his fame he turned his back on it all and hid out in Woodstock, NY and started a family. from '67 to like '71, while everyone else was taking acid and getting nakested, he sat around the house with the kids. smart guy.
the irony is that while Dylan made so much effort to break his "generational spokesman" stereotype in order to be just a regular rock and roll singer, Lennon, during that same period, did everything in his power to be more than just a Beatle and become a "protest singer"... weird, right?
